The A-Team: Anxiety in Australia (Das A-Team: Angst in Australien) – Within the country of Australia, each states and territories has their own interpretation to the various “Laws” that govern it’s own citizens including laws managing the endemic wildlife. With this said, one should expect that several basic principles of the law should also enforce a degree of integrity towards a defenceless or captured animal. Apparently not.

The following story demonstrates the now accepted behaviour by some of the so called scientists along with irresponsible film crews, that go to extreme lengths to get what they want, promoting dangerous sensationalism at the expense of the poor wildlife.

“In the Northern Territory with Charlie Manolis, Chief Scientist for Wildlife Management International & Crocodylus Park

Mr Charlie Manolis a crocodile expert in NT Australia, was engaged along with a very irresponsible filming crew, to produce for the German television a crocodile encounter to exemplify the fear and anxiety of crocodiles in Australia.   Not only what you are about to witness violates ALL the codes on Animal Ethics, the footage sadly leads people from overseas to believe that a crocodile encounter might be easily manageable – it’s clearly not.

This visiting film crew and their broadcaster clearly do not understand the volatile position they place themselves on, let alone the blunt stupidity of the camera man. Please watch carefully this entire video preview clip (Documentary broadcasted on 26th Feb 2012 Terra X 2DF German Television) and make particular attention to the timecode at 4:24 minute on this preview to see clearly a fishing nylon cord around the snout of the crocodile. To culminate all this erroneous behaviour, one could also consider that a gun (off camera view) was also possibly pointed at this “deliberate baited” crocs head (just for safety).

What are all these people documenting, examples for all those crazy hosts, camera crews dare devils, that Australia has no boundaries when it comes to documentary making or are we educating our viewers all over the world including children, that this is acceptable to attempt for ones glory of the YouTube.

It astonishes me, that people in such prominent and ambiguous wildlife management positions and associations, partake in these so called wildlife nature documentaries, allowing themselves to be placed for public scrutiny on immoral wildlife conduct or continue to portrait a complete disrespect and disregard for safety, and above all “The Common Law”.

We, the real Australians including those ethical government officials do not give the world, false senses on crocodile encounters either in their natural or contrived environment.

We want our visitors and residents to feel save and be educated on dangerous wildlife and not when next visiting Northern Australia, to have the perception that a danger sign “Achtung “crocodiles” just implies that if you are a German national or in company of an irresponsible crocodile handler, you will interpret the sign as “come in .. the water is fine, we don’t eat Germans” or perhaps… one telepathically will have enough time to communicated to the unaware saltwater crocodile, that you just had caustic Indian food. (apparently like humans, saltwater crocodiles don’t like to have their cloacas burning for weeks)

Furthermore, under the support of this Australian Chief Scientist and after the successful stunt taking place, they also filmed successfully the cutting of the fishing line from the crocodile snout, while using then partial shots on the same documentary to emphasise their blunt cruelty.  This is the amazing German A Team in the Lawless Australia. Yes Mr Manolis, the “croc can smell fear ” and we also can see the unjustifiable filming techniques that under the Australian Animal Ethics are punishable.

This is the new way of unscrupulous wildlife scientific people and documentary making at its worst, to say the least. However, this may just be the ticket for a new “crocodile euphoria in Germany” and let’s make it snappy!

For a better appraisal of this amazing wildlife scientific mentality, one just has to go to ABC Media Watch and see some of the transcripts made previously about crocodile experts – a screamer, let me tell you.
