A woman in India was attacked by an elephant after teasing him with a banana.
She daringly held a banana up towards the creature’s mouth before pulling back just as he opened his mouth to chomp.
The young woman could be seen smiling at the pachyderm as she dangled the fruit in front of her, but he clearly saw through the ruse, swinging his trunk and tusks, hurtling her backwards through the air.
The tusker was seemingly angry that the woman was playing games with him, attacking her and causing the person filming the video to recoil in terror, dropping the camera.
Just prior to the attack, the woman could be heard saying: ‘How cool is he?’

Footage of the incident was shared on social media by Susanta Nanda, an Indian Forest Service Officer who often shares intriguing wildlife content online.
He captioned the post: ‘You can’t fool an elephant even though he is tamed. They are one of the most intelligent animals to be in captivity.’
The video elicited several responses from users and many were concerned about the woman’s health.
A user commented, ‘Hope she survived the attack.’ Another user wrote, ‘She must have suffered several fractures.’ A third user wrote, ‘Humans need to understand that wildlife is magnificent and majestic spirit and we need to respect their being..not be arrogant with them and bring in our human behaviour in their aura @susantananda3.’
