Tangled deer saved from drowning thanks to heart-wrenching rescue

Deer stags often quarrel over an alluring doe, and since she will only be fertile for the autumn season, competition is even tighter.

The pair of men, father and son duo Charlie and Adam Anderson, pulled up to the scene on a rowboat after one buck had already been exhausted to death by the outdrawn battle.

While there’s no mention of a female audience, two stags ended up with interlocked antlers in an altercation in shallow waters before two daring rescuers showed up.

The father, a veterinarian, and his son, an avid hunter, stuck with the task for 25 minutes while the deer struggled to untangle itself from the weight of its adversary.

The younger Anderson made several attempts to saw the dead stag’s antlers off to break the surviving deer free while his father commanded the boat, but the stag was uncooperative and wriggled himself away from the rescue attempts.

But the Andersons were persistent, and even tried to knock the antlers apart by using a hatchet, hoping the stag would use the momentum to escape.
