Atlantic Puffins<\/p>\n \n Flight of the Puffin<\/p>\n \n
In July of 2011 I had the pleasure to travel to Maine with my husband. My main objective was to photograph Atlantic puffins, but Maine has more than just puffins to offer the photographer.<\/p>\n
We made three stops, Acadia National Park, Cutler and Greenville. Acadia National Park has many coastal views to capture, including of course its many lighthouses. Cutler is where you can take the only boat out to actually land on an island, Machias Seal Island, to photograph Atlantic puffins.<\/p>\n
To my surprise though, I was greeted with wonderful photo ops to capture razorbills and common murres. Many times the weather can cancel the daily trips to the island, but we had the great fortune of two perfect weather days.<\/p>\n
Staying in Greenville, I was able to have several mornings where I photographed moose and one of my favorite birds, the common loon.<\/p>\n
