Due to thunderstorms in the Denver area, I’m in an airport restaurant waiting out a three-hour delay and reflecting on my Florida Birds workshop that finished up this morning.

Even though I’m stuck in the airport waiting on my connecting flight, it is refreshing to be back in the thin air of the mile-high city after a week of Florida’s heat and humidity.

I was fortunate to have a really great group of clients on this workshop. We had a week of intense photography that included awesome photo shoots from Captain Terry’s boat in Sarasota Bay and the Braden River.

In addition, a particularly energetic Reddish Egret treated us to a great show in incredible golden-hour light at Fort DeSoto last evening. As a result, everyone is heading home, not only with great pics, but also with new knowledge that they will use for years to come.

One of the best things about workshops are the friendships that inevitably blossom while spending 16 hours a day with like minded people. Even though we come from different parts of the world and different walks of life, photography is the common denominator that bringsus together.

Together we pursue our craft, share knowledge, trade secrets, laugh a lot, all while experiencing the best that Mother Nature has to offer. I’m already looking forward to next year’s Florida workshop.

Well, I need to wrap this up and check on my flight status. Hopefully I’ll be sleeping in my own bed tonight. Before I go, here’s a few from the past week . . .

The post appeared first on Scenic Aperture.
