(Spinus tristis)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dr. Francis adds, &#8220;I believe that conservation and biodiversity preservation can improve by demonstrating how nature benefits people. The psychological ecosystem services that nature provide is an important way that people benefit from nature.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As the report concludes, &#8220;Our findings add to a growing body of evidence linking mental health to nature experiences.&#8221; They show how sounds &#8211; in this case &#8211; wild birdsongs &#8211; play an important role in the way nature confers her restorative effects on humans.<\/p>\n<p>The findings have just been published in <a href=\"https:\/\/royalsocietypublishing.org\/doi\/full\/10.1098\/rspb.2020.1811?af=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">the proceedings of\u00a0The Royal Society.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Lead photo: The Cape May warbler (Setophaga tigrina).
