{"id":2171010,"date":"2023-09-04T08:35:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-04T07:35:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusingonwildlife.com\/news\/?p=2171010"},"modified":"2024-06-10T15:40:08","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T14:40:08","slug":"they-came-in-the-night-usda-wildlife-services-contract-killers-dark-operations-part-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusingonwildlife.com\/news\/they-came-in-the-night-usda-wildlife-services-contract-killers-dark-operations-part-1\/","title":{"rendered":"They Came in the Night &#8211; USDA Wildlife Services &#8220;Contract Killers\u201d &#8211; Dark Operations \u2013 Part 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Waterfowl are disappearing across the United States in the dark cover of night, a Dark Operation that appears meant to hide the heinous act of \u201cculling\u201d also known as \u201creduction of a wild animal population by selective slaughter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201ccontract Killers\u201d AKA, USDA\u2019s Wildlife Services or Animal &amp; Plant Health Inspection Services are the hired contractors whose advertised mission is, \u201cto provide federal leadership and expertise to resolve wildlife conflicts to allow people and wildlife to coexist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arlene from Philadelphia, PA, says that \u201cwhen it comes to mass killings like what happens with the geese, the sheer numbers are almost incomprehensible to the average person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, June 19, 2023, officials with Midwestern State University in Texas confirmed that a wildlife management plan enacted to address the \u201coverpopulation\u201d of Canada\u00a0Geese. \u201cOverpopulation\u201d according to who? Reminder &#8211; USDA\u2019s Wildlife Services is a paid contractor.<\/p>\n<p>Wichita Falls, Tx-334 geese were removed from Sikes Lake at the request of MSU. The USDA\u2019s Wildlife Services reported that the birds were removed and \u201chumanely euthanized.\u201d 300\u00a0geese killed\u00a0in\u00a0Duluth\u00a0roundup, Foster City, Calif. Nadine from Kansas says, yes, the geese know her, and she has developed a relationship with them and has a method to communicate with them.<\/p>\n<p>According to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), \u201cGeese have long memories and use familiar landmarks and the stars to navigate during their annual journeys. Geese are loyal and mate for life and are protective of their partners and offspring. Ducks and geese can feel pain and emotions just like our dogs and cats, and just like humans.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/issues\/animals-used-for-food\/factory-farming\/ducks-geese\/hidden-lives-ducks-geese\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">The Hidden Lives of Ducks and Geese<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The USDA\u2019s Wildlife Services is famously known for their \u201croundups\u201d or \u201cculls\u201d of Canadian Geese, Mute Swans, Ducks, and other waterbirds, including Egrets, Herons and Cormorants from community ponds, lakes, and waterways.<\/p>\n<p>In Defense of Animals (IDA), the national organization \u201cprotects geese from \u201ccullings,\u201d &#8220;roundups,&#8221; and cruelty. Whenever anyone complains about goose poop in their community, the property owner will try to find a way to get rid of the geese and solve the \u201cproblem\u201d as quickly and easily as possible, even if it is a cruel and unsound solution in the long run.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Why are we allowing the killing of wildlife by the millions when we are the problem?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A report published by Science Daily on the Sixth Mass Extinction of global biodiversity states that, \u201cHumans are the only species capable of manipulating the biosphere on a large scale,&#8221; Cowie emphasized. &#8220;We are not just another species evolving in the face of external influences.
