National Wildlife Federation teams up with LG Electronics (LG) for an ongoing campaign to highlight vulnerable and endangered species.<\/p>\n
In December, LG featured the Red Wolf, the most endangered wolf in the world, as the fourth animal in the campaign series with NWF.<\/p>\n

The Red Wolf is protected by the Endangered Species Act and has been designated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a critically endangered species, and their population in the wild is perilously low.<\/p>\n
Red Wolves can be found in the wild in North Carolina only. Gray Wolves, another imperiled wolf species and the largest living canine species, also lives in the U.S.<\/p>\n
However, their range is much broader with populations in Alaska, several states in the northern U.S., along with a subspecies, the Mexican Gray Wolf, with a small population in the southwest U.S.<\/p>\n
Red Wolves are facing multiple threats to the survival of the species, including habitat loss, hybridization with coyotes, and human-caused mortality events, such as gunshots and vehicle strikes.<\/p>\n
