The Environmental Protection Agency is considering rolling back the 2009 Greenhouse Gas Endangerment finding, one of our bedrock environmental protection policies.<\/p>\n
The finding determined that carbon dioxide and certain greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health \u2014 and is the reason we have air and water protections in the first place.<\/p>\n
The EPA is currently accepting public comment on this action \u2014 and we need you to add your voice to the loud chorus opposing this detrimental threat.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Take action now.<\/strong><\/u><\/a><\/p>\n For the past 16 years, the Greenhouse Gas Endangerment finding has served as the basis for the government\u2019s authority to regulate emissions from cars, aircraft, power plants, and other industries. There is widespread scientific data supporting the finding, and evidence of the harmful effects of greenhouse gases continues to grow.<\/p>\n The\u00a0National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences cites<\/a>\u00a0several studies which have found that high concentrations or close proximity to greenhouse gas emissions cause health effects including reduced lung function, increased asthma, cardiac problems, and cancer.<\/p>\n Reversing this finding will only serve the interests of the nation\u2019s top polluters, leaving communities to grapple with adverse health effects and reduced quality of life.
