British universities reported an increase in applications for\u00a0marine biology courses, and the series helped spark a movement against single-use plastic \u2013 which often ended up in the Earth\u2019s waters.<\/p>\n<p>Now, at an event\u00a0celebrating the 100th<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>birthday of David Attenborough, the BBC has announced that\u00a0<em>Blue Planet III\u00a0<\/em>is coming soon.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What will\u00a0<em>Blue Planet III<\/em>\u00a0be about?<\/h2>\n<p><em>Blue Planet III\u00a0<\/em>will build upon the legacy of the first two series, revealing groundbreaking stories using the latest underwater technology. Splash drones, long-term remote underwater cameras and a \u2018mini dome\u2019 mean that behaviours previously impossible to film, or only recently discovered, can now be captured.<\/p>\n<p><em>Blue Planet III<\/em>\u00a0will explore Earth\u2019s five key underwater habitats: Tropical Seas; Open Ocean; Seasonal Seas; Polar Waters and The Deep. The sixth episode, titled Future Seas, will focus on how we can protect our seas.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When can you watch\u00a0<em>Blue Planet III<\/em>?<\/h2>\n<p>While we don\u2019t know exactly when\u00a0<em>Blue Planet III<\/em>\u00a0will be available to watch, it will be coming to BBC One and iPlayer later this year. In the meantime, you can watch\u00a0<em>The Blue Planet\u00a0<\/em>and<em>\u00a0Blue Planet II<\/em>\u00a0on\u00a0BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who will narrate<em>\u00a0Blue Planet III?<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>David Attenborough, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday, will be narrating the third instalment of the series.
