Douglas, the name of the yellow bird has been corrected. Wishing you good luck in the competition.

I cannot find a way to edit my post.

So focused upon the principal subject due to voting, i missed this totally!

I live near one of the last great North American estuaries relatively unbutchered by humanunkind as ee commings observed that species.

But no ibises pass here, and the low tide gives refuge to tens of thousands of birds who prefer the flats over a mile or two from our aggressive interference.

A few times at the vast Colorado Delta, i realized a pale shadow of the yearly migratory destination it had been each year forever,
before the water was all taken for cities from Rocky Mt front range to Los Angeles and the evils of golf courses of Phoenix.

There is good news – since too many golf courses suck the natural watersheds i love dry, many have begun closing due to excessive building though the destruction of several; Hawaiian Islands for golf/condo has not been diminished.

The tine of that will pass, too, and the estuaries and vast flyways will return. Our sense that we are “progress” and death our legacy and future to all that live, will pass also.

There are no restrictions about age of photos. Old photos are welcomed.
