Having started photography at the age of nine with a Kodak Brownie Twin 20 which I still have, as well as setting up a darkroom at home I was bitten and later studied at the Regent St Poly for 4 years obtained City& Guilds 744. Worked in retail as well as doing Commercial and Industrial plus the bread and butter Weddings for which I bought a Hasselblad 500 cm the perfect tool for the job and started using Nikon in 1965 perfect for Wildlife and Travel work using long lenses and far less expensive. In 1978 moved to work and live in the Middle East based in Dubai - In 1982 whilst in Bahrain I got the Royal Photographic Society Membership and with a Tax free income further opportunities to see more of the World ( through a viewfinder) came ,28 Countries was my tally before leaving the UK. Being a days flight away I continued travelling adding East Africa the Wildlife Paradise that I had to find a position there it was Tanzania and spent time setting and running Photo Safari's as well as setting up the Avis location in Kenya and Uganda. Today it's 78 Countries some into double figures and still counting. Film was the medium for 52 years and then Digital came along to become the best thing since the Camera Obscure. I use a Fuji S 5 Pro and a Nikon D 300 s. I always keep a compact camera that I take everywhere. You never know when a shot will present its self---example It would come useful in case of a Car accident a photo provides evidence when words are of little use in a dispute..... today in 2015 smart phones seem to fit the bill .
