In Sandstone, MN, a young bobcat kitten named Jax is in urgent need of life-saving medical care after arriving at The Wildcat Sanctuary. At just four months old, Jax came with serious health issues, including visual impairment, open-mouth breathing, and tremors in his front legs.
The sanctuary’s team quickly sought help from a cardiologist to run a series of tests, which fortunately showed no heart abnormalities. However, the absence of cardiac problems left the sanctuary’s staff searching for answers.
Despite a stable diet, Jax continues to suffer from hypoglycemia, with dangerously low blood sugar levels that haven’t improved.
Blood tests confirmed that his glucose levels remain abnormally low, pushing the veterinary team to focus on potential underlying causes like liver, pancreas, or adrenal gland issues. An upcoming abdominal ultrasound will provide more insights into his condition.
Jax has been through several medical procedures but remains spirited and playful. Despite his health challenges, he enjoys stalking and playing like any other kitten and eagerly awaits his favorite treat – chicken livers – after each treatment.
The Wildcat Sanctuary is committed to giving Jax the best care possible, feeding him five times a day to stabilize his blood sugar.
The team has set up a GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs of his ongoing treatment, ensuring this resilient bobcat kitten has a chance to thrive.
