Wildfires devastated Brazil’s over the summer, scorching over 3 million acres—an area the size of New Jersey.

Itapira had burns on all four paws, was severely dehydrated, and too weak to survive on her own.

The Pantanal has experienced the worst fire crisis in its history. Millions of acres of this vital ecosystem have been devastated, resulting in the loss of countless animal lives, destroyed habitats, and ruined wildlife reserves.
