Harpy Eagle (Harpia Harpyja)

Harpia harpyja has an extensive range in southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and north-east Argentina. The main threats to the species are forest loss and degradation, and hunting, poaching and persecution. Collision with powerlines is an additional source of mortality
