Whilst in Tanoumah in June I managed to see and photograph an Arabian Spotted Eagle-owl. I went back to the same area in July and at another location about two kilometres away I saw another bird perched on a wall of a partly built building. On getting out of the car the bird could be […]
Eurasian Stonechat at Scotney
With the Jims needing Buff-breasted Sandpiper for a tick we headed off down to Dunge this morning. A quick trip down Gallaways gave up nothing of note but we did find six Cattle Egrets at the farm on the reserve. At ARC we had stunning views of a Bittern as it walked around in front […]

Bittern at Dungeness
A few more images of the Bittern from Hanson Hide on ARC pit this weekend.

The weather was warm and settled ideal conditions for the pink footed geese to arrive from Iceland. I like to witness one of nature’s spectacles as the geese arrive at Martin Mere for their winter holidays. There were already about seven thousand geese in the area and I was hoping for many more during the […]
Eurasian Hobby – Jubail
Whilst birding near Jubail in September I found an adult Eurasian Hobby sitting on the small tree in the early morning. The weather conditions had been foggy and large numbers of birds had been grounded by the weather most of which appeared to be Spanish Sparrows. I assume the Eurasian Hobby was part of the […]
