It is always such a treat to visit Churchill. The birds and photo opportunities really are fantastic. We had a wonderful time shooting speeding Eiders flying by while sitting on the shore of the Hudson’s Bay. Our time spent photographing Pacific Loons, Horned Grebes and Long-tailed Ducks on their breeding ponds was also excellent. Searching for birds out on the tundra is always fun and we found and got great shots of Willow Ptarmigans, American Golden Plovers, Stilt Sandpipers and several other species. We even spent some time in the Boreal forest to track down a Spruce Grouse and a few Blackpoll Warblers.
I am taking 2013 off from leading this trip so that I can do a bit more of my own exploring and photography. But it will return in 2014. So be sure to send me an email if you would like to be on the “wish list”.
