We are parrots
Large medium and small
Some of us are born to fly
Some of us not at all
We prefer to live free
In our natural environment
But for many
This is not what fate sent
If we live as a member
Of your family
Treat us with kindness and sincerity
And If you humans want a parrot
As a companion
Adopt don’t shop
So poaching us from
Our natural world
Will finally stop
There is so much more
We can say
But we’ll stop
