He returned to Japan in 2008 and has since concentrated on wildlife photography, especially birds. John visits Southeast Asia and Australia regularly, but usually travels within the Japanese archipelago, where he also guides visiting birders and wildlife photography enthusiasts.

I have enjoyed your reports on the new 1DX I too am in the same boat: West Coast of BC is dark and dreary so the low light is a problem. I have a 7D and I am thinking of a 1Dx too. Keep posting your evaluations they are helping me decide.
