Common Ringlet ~ Coenonympha tullia

This little jewel . . . common though it may be . . . was flitting about in our south field. It is surely not a common site for me. This is a first sighting and capture.

Thank you so for your comments Dermot and David. I am only just seeing these. Sorry to have missed your feedback. This little butterfly was in our south field in Western Massachusetts. I have identified it from our Mass. butterfly site http://www.massaudubon.org/butterflyatlas/index.php?id=46 and here too http://www.naba.org/chapters/nabambc/construct-species-page.asp?sp=Coenonympha-tullia

Agreed, Small Heath. The forum is worldwide. Is it too much to ask for more info than “our south field”?
