The raccoon nicknamed Trashed Panda inspired limited edition merchandise that has raised more than one hundred eighty thousand dollars for a local animal shelter.
According to Karri Peifer at Axios, the effort benefited Hanover County Animal Protection, the team that stepped in to help the animal recover and return to safety.
The appeal is simple and warm. A playful design shows the raccoon resting beside a tipped bottle, turning a chaotic night into a reminder that compassion can follow even the strangest stories.
Shoppers snapped up shirts, mugs, and stickers, and the proceeds now help fund shelter operations and officer training. That means better outcomes for rescued animals and stronger community response when wildlife crosses paths with people.
