Black Grouse in Scotland

Its that time of year again where I go all gooey over the most amazing of birds – the Black .

Due to the weather I’ve not yet managed to get there this year so thought I’d have a look at last years images.

Thank you Ken, just saying the the newsletters sometimes stalls and i cannot write a comment, but the grouse above was fine, we had a great sighting a few years ago of i think of a red kite on our fence i was amazed by it never came back again too late to take a photo it had gone before i thought of it, i saw a very rare to us here where i live a Velvet Scooter just found out the name looking at Bill Oddies's bird book, it was lost i think the duck was on its own… Read more »

You’re very lucky, Doris. This is one species I haven’t ever seen! We don’t have Black Grouse in Switzerland!

I saw lots of these in the Highlands of Scotland and also dotted round most countryside in Cumbria.
