The Birds of Egypt, a photography trip, 2006-2012, 2 of 4



In this part two of my photography trip would like to highlight some areas and zones around Egypt, for this part I am introducing Sinai region and its birds.

Sinai is a major stop and one of the most important IBAs in the migratory route from Europe to Africa and back during spring and autumn, there is three major areas in Sinai are:

Zaranek national park, the bitter lakes, and Ras Mohamed national park, the St Cathrine mountain is a major stop for the smaller song birds.

Yehia El Alaily

Yehia El Alaily is an Egyptian/ British commercial photographer based in Cairo, Egypt. Since specializing in commercial photography in 2005, Alaily has worked with several local and international clients. His commercial portfolio covers a wide range of trends: conceptual, lifestyle, people, nature and architecture, but his keynote project remains the Birds of Egypt started in 2005. His interest in photo- documenting bird migration in Egypt has taken Alaily across Egypt in pursuit of different bird species across the country. This ongoing project has established him as a contributing photographer with Christopher Helm Publishers.
