7 Reasons Why Wind Power Is The Future

2016 saw for the first time wind power create more electricity than coal. The Uk is currently the best place in europe to house wind farms.

As the success of wind turbines grows so does their production, size and location. But why are wind turbines so good?

Here’s 6 reasons why wind power is the future:

7 Reasons Why Wind Power Is The Future

1.Climate Change

The entire world is at risk of the effects of climate change. Countries world wide need to reduce their c02 emission by 80% by 2050. The key for success is the use of renewable energy sources meaning wind power will play key role. The world simply will come to rely on wind power dues to its effectiveness. Global economic experts calculated 19% of all generated energy will come from wind turbines by 2030 rising to 30% by 2050.

2.Price

Wind Turbines are a cheap source of energy. In fact it’s the second cheapest form of energy behind geothermal. Currently it is cheaper to build turbines on land. Building at sea would produce far more effective outcomes but is is currently more expensive. Over the next few years the price of sea turbine construction will fall. Turbines built a few years ago which you see dotted over countrysides run almost without any subsidiary costs.

3.The Amount

The amount of energy wind turbines produce far outweighs that of solar power. Just one 250kW wind turbine can generate more energy than 2500 solar panel in the same amount of time. Until solar power evolves the best course of action would be to install turbines. The further wind turbines move out to sea the more energy they can create and also means they wont need to take up any space on our land.

4.Independance

The aim of green energy is to become independent and self sufficient. The large corporations are clambering to supply renewable energy in the future but there is no reason why your own small society groups can’t buy a wind turbine and supply yourself with the energy. Afterall, no one owns the wind.

5.Jobs

From engineering to construction to maintenance, wind turbines will create a lot of jobs. Most fossil fuel production is situated in built up urban areas. Wind turbines are mainly built in rural areas. This gives local people more job opportunities. The knock on effect would be that these areas would experience  economic growth.

6.Recyclable

Wind turbines can’t seem to do any wrong. The latest models are more nature friendly than their predecessors and can be recycled quite effectively. The rotor blades are the only part which cannot be recycled into new turbines but they can be recycled into other things such as bollards.

7.Wildlife

Wind turbines do not hurt animals and don’t affect their habitat. They don’t produce lethal chemicals and don’t pollute the atmosphere. Turbines reduce the risk of climate change which obviously has a positive impact on wildlife all around the world.

What you can do

Support ‘Fighting for Wildlife’ by donating as little as $1 – It only takes a minute. Thank you.

payment

Fighting for Wildlife supports approved wildlife conservation organizations, which spend at least 80 percent of the money they raise on actual fieldwork, rather than administration and fundraising. When making a donation you can designate for which type of initiative it should be used – wildlife, oceans, forests or climate.
