Birding in Bandipur

Birding in Bandipur

Bandipur National Park is almost home considering the fact that it is less than 4 hours drive from Bangalore.

On this trip to Bandipur, our first couple of safari yielded a rich harvest of bird portraits. Here are a few birds that caught our attention.

The common Bushchat looking right at us while it was foraging made a beautiful close-up portrait. The Ashy Prinia with its grasshopper catch was an equally good shot.

Tiger in Bandipur

The chance spotting of a Tiger made for a lovely and lucky sighting, even though it wasn’t anything to rave about from a photography perspective. The Brown Fish Owl was a nice sighting too.

Rose ringed Parakeet

The Rose-ringed Parakeet strolling towards its nest happened to be at the right place at the right time. And finally the spotting of the Bay-backed Shrike scanning the lantana for its next prey was a cool composition too.
