Deer Rescued After Falling Into Abandoned Septic Tank

Two officers responded to a call for a deer that fell through the top of an abandoned septic tank in Phillipsport, New York.

The deer appeared to have fallen through the top of the tank and was not able to get out. The Environmental Conservation Police removed soil from around the tank and created a pathway to help the deer free itself. One officer secured a rope around the deer, and they pulled the animal out of the ground.

The deer shortly ran out of sight, and the property owner was advised to fill the tank as soon as possible to avoid any other incident.

There have been many incidents of animals and humans accidentally falling down these sinkholes. It is very important, if you have one, to fill it so that no one gets hurt.

This deer is lucky that the Environmental Conservation Police arrived in time to help out.
